TwoLe is a platform of computing tools that make up a Decision Support System for managing water resources at the basin or watershed scale. According to the EU Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC, this procedure must be integrated: it should use devices able to integrate the many qualitative and quantitative facets of problems distinguished by the complexity of environmental systems, as well as the variety of approaches used to solve them. The decision process, both in the planning phase and in the management phase, must be participatory: the adopted procedure counts on and formalises the involvement of stakeholders through the use of computing tools able to support participation at different levels (information, consulting, active involvement) and able to guarantee the transparency and traceability of the entire decision process. Olginate Twole is tested on two real case studies:

    * planning level (pilot application on the Lario river basin and the Adda downstream of lake Como);

    * management level (pilot application on the Verbano catchment and the Ticino downstream of the lake)

Energy related questions are seen as key challenge in South Africa from various perspectives: Security of supply is a core topic for the thriving industrial nation. Energy poverty and social equity ("electricity for all") has high relevance on the post-apartheid political agenda. Local emissions from coal burning are an important health issue. Poor cooking devices form a severe threat due to the risk of large shack fires in informal settlement. Lately the issue of climate change has become more and more important - South Africa relying almost entirely on coal and being number 12 globally of the biggest CO2 emittants. It emits roughly 40% of the CO2 emissions of the African continent.

The general objective of ECHIM is to consolidate and expand the ECHI Indicator system towards a sustainable health monitoring system in Europe. The focus will be on collecting and disseminating comparable health data and information based on the ECHI shortlist. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with Member States, the European Commission, Eurostat, WHO, OECD and other international organisations with the aim of supporting the EU Health Strategy.

Specific objectives are to:
1. improve, document and maintain the ECHI Indicators,
2. develop guidelines and MS specific plans for ECHI shortlist indicators implementation at MS, regional and EU-level, as needed,
3. implement ECHI shortlist indicators in MSs and to achieve a good coverage,
4. maintain a network of national health indicator experts for ECHI Indicators and the needed data collection,
5. map, design and test the data flow between MSs and a central capacity for health monitoring,
6. present health data based on the ECHI shortlist, in connection with the EUPHIX system, and
7. produce the first joint analysis and report on data based on ECHI shortlist indicators.

Green IT is the study and practice of designing, manufacturing, using and disposing IT related hardware products in an efficient sustainable way with minimal or even no impact on the environment.

Green Software Engineering is the attempt to apply these "green" principles known from hardware products also on software products, software development processes and their underlying software process models.

The first main goal of the project is to to design a conceptual reference model supporting IT professionals and software users in the sustainable development and usage of software. The second main goal is to develop a software toolbox called "Sustainable Software Support Center" (S3C) that assists IT professionals in realizing systainable, resource-friendly software products.

ISBEEM supports the actions and tasks than need to be undertaken towards the improvement of indoor air quality and energy savings in buildings. Schools have been selected as the studied building category due to their importance and specific characteristics when it comes to the interactions they have with children. The system contains technical information, practical advices and suggestions and guidelines, in order to address problems that are recorder on the basis of predefined, school-tailored questionnaires. Java-oriented, open source related technologies are used, that allow for flexible, adaptable and low cost applications to be developed. The system and its services are platform neutral, support access via the internet with the aid of PC’s, laptops, PDAs or mobile phones, and are available via http://isbeem.meng.auth.gr.  Main features include: a wissard-based estimation of indoor environment problems (air quality, ventillation, etc). An expert systyem for the estimation of actual versus optimul heating demantds. Guidelines and best ptactices.

The main objective of the Nationwide Information System for Environmental Pollution Data Collection and Assessments is to comprehensively contribute to environmental protection and improvement in the Czech Republic through digitalizing work and systematically acquiring and evaluating information. This is a current prerequisite for economic growth within sustainable development. The main users of the new information system will include public authorities and institutions; nevertheless, the system will also be open to the general public.

The advantages and benefits of the project are substantially higher transparency, consistency and the efficiency of relationships between businesses, public administration, the general public and the environmental sector.
The information system will include three main parts within separate project tasks: An Integrated System for Fulfilling Information Duties (ISPOP), the Environmental Helpdesk and the Geoportal.
