The research programme for the period 2007-2011 in the area of the rural development was called by the  Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic (MMR) and will be implemented through the MMR by annual public tendering procedure.
The programme is structured into 4 subprogrammes:
1. Support to regional development
2. Tourism
3. Living
4. Spatial planning

Main objectives of the Programme are : Identification and quantification of regional disparities, Causal analysis of such disparities, Formulation of proposals aimed at the elimination of disparities, Identification of the key factors of problematic developments in the area of competitiveness, innovations, and support for research and development, accessibility of education, land use planning, tourism, and housing, Analysis and differentiation of phenomena with a high degree of spontaneity and phenomena that can be effectively controlled by regulatory measures, Search for theoretical starting points for the development of the regional policy and its components targeting disparities, Definition of instruments used to reduce regional disparities in the assessed areas, Formulation of suita.

This project provides to all users a Web site on the public gardens and vegetation in the Municipality of Rimini (Italy). It is uniquely based on open-source technologies.
It offers an interactive maps where citizens can click on a Municipality zone and look for parks and trees that populate them.
A 'tree card' provides information on the most available species and sometimes photos of single tree can be viewed.
The objective is to raise knowledge and awareness of citizens on the importance of public vegetation and its protection.

The project is implemented under the Slovakian national R&D programme "Information Society Building" .
Project aims at developing methodologies and standards to support effective integration and use of distributed geospatial data, design environment and software tools to enable effective delivery of geospatial information and application development for public administration, environment, agriculture, regional development and commercial sector.
The outcomes will be as follows: proposed standards and methodology for the integration of geospatial data within the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), designed the catalog of objects and NSDI data model, designed and implemented a distributed metainformation system NSDI, designed and implemented a single interface  framework for integration and distribution of geoinformation.
